Terms and conditions

Last updated 15 October 2026

In plain English: be fair with us and we'll be fair with you. If you buy as a consumer, nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

1. About us

Muster is a trading name of Highfold Group Ltd (company number 17521208, registered in England and Wales). Registered office: Office 21848, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, London, E6 2JA. When you use Muster (musterready.co.uk) or buy from us, your contract is with Highfold Group Ltd. Contact us at hello@musterready.co.uk.

2. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Payments are taken securely by Stripe. If we make an obvious pricing error we'll tell you before going ahead.

3. Your account and subscription

  • You must give accurate details and keep your login secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
  • Free trial. Your first plan starts with a 14-day free trial: you add a card at checkout and nothing is taken for 14 days. We'll email you 3 days before the first payment. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged. The free trial is once per account.
  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as chosen) until cancelled. We'll email you at least 14 days before an annual plan renews.
  • You can cancel at any time from your account in a couple of clicks; your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • If a payment fails we'll let you know and give you time to update your card before limiting your account.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. You can cancel before the change takes effect.

4. Your content

You own the information you put into Muster. You give us permission to store and process it only to provide the service. You can export or delete it at any time. You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for any documents you generate and use.

5. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unlawful content, no attempts to break or overload it, no reselling access without our written agreement.

6. Availability

We work hard to keep Muster available and backed up, but we can't promise it will never be interrupted. We'll give notice of planned maintenance where we can.

Muster specifics

  • Your records. You're responsible for the accuracy of the checks, visits, drills and training you record, and for keeping your venue PIN private. Change the PIN if you think it has been shared outside your team - this signs out every phone using the old one.
  • Guidance, not advice. Check schedules, the Martyn's Law tier checker and the procedures builder follow published GOV.UK guidance, but they don't replace your fire risk assessment, a competent fire safety professional, or official guidance from the Home Office and the Security Industry Authority.
  • When a plan ends. If you cancel, your plan runs to the end of the period you've paid for. After that your records stay in your account for you to view and export, but your team can't log new checks and no reminders are sent until you choose a plan again. If you delete a venue or your account, its logs, staff records, photos and certificates are deleted.
  • Venues. Venue covers one venue and Multi-site covers five; Multi-site customers can add extra venues on the billing page (£5 a month or £50 a year each). A venue your plan doesn't cover stays read-only.

Your team's details: our data processing terms

When you add your staff to Muster (their names, email addresses if you add them, training records and briefing sign-offs, and the checks they log), you, the business or organisation that runs the venue, are the controller of that personal data and we process it for you as your processor. This section is our contract for that processing under UK GDPR Article 28. Our privacy policy explains it to your staff.

  • What, why and for how long. We process your team's details only to provide Muster to you: recording and showing checks, training and sign-offs, sending the reminders you set up and building your inspection pack. The people concerned are your staff and anyone else you add. We process it while you use Muster, then as set out under "At the end".
  • Your instructions. We act only on your documented instructions: these terms and what you do in Muster, including where the data is stored and transferred. If the law requires us to do anything else with it, we'll tell you first unless the law forbids that.
  • Confidentiality and security. Everyone we allow to process it is bound to keep it confidential, and we protect it with appropriate technical and organisational measures (UK GDPR Article 32). Records are shown only to the signed-in users of that venue's account.
  • Sub-processors. You authorise us to use the suppliers named in our privacy policy that handle this data (such as our hosting company). We'll tell you before we add or replace one, so you can object, and each is bound by data protection terms that protect the data as these terms do.
  • Helping you. We'll help you answer your staff's requests to use their data protection rights (you can view, correct, export and delete a person's details yourself on the Staff page; checks they logged stay in your log book with their name as it was written, as fire safety records), and with your duties on security, personal data breaches, data protection impact assessments and consulting the ICO, taking into account the information we have. We'll tell you without undue delay after we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your team's details.
  • At the end. You choose: export your log book (a spreadsheet) and save your inspection pack whenever you like, and delete a person's details, venues or your whole account whenever you choose. When you delete them, we delete the personal data (copies in our backups expire within the period our privacy policy gives), unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Information and audits. We'll give you the information you reasonably need to show that these obligations are met, and allow for and contribute to audits, including inspections, by you or an auditor you appoint, on reasonable notice.

Cancellations and refunds

See our refunds & cancellation policy.

Our liability

We're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable. Nothing limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't legally be limited. If you use Muster for business purposes, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, and we're not liable for lost profit, revenue or business opportunity.

Not legal or professional advice

Muster provides software, templates and general information to help you organise your obligations. It isn't legal, financial or professional advice and doesn't replace a qualified adviser for your specific situation.

Complaints

If something's gone wrong, email hello@musterready.co.uk and we'll aim to resolve it within 14 days.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
